Who we are
EatPlayToday (eatplaytoday.com) is a local guide to the Tri-Cities of Washington, operated by Eat Play Today LLC, a Washington limited liability company (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
The short version: we collect only what we need to run the guide and its planning assistant. We do not sell your information, we do not use advertising trackers, and we delete detailed activity records after 90 days.
Information we collect
Questions you ask the assistant. When you use the planning assistant, we receive what you type and the choices you pick, such as who the plan is for. Before we store a question, we remove email addresses and phone numbers from it. We keep the question and the assistant’s answer for up to 90 days.
Your location, only if you allow it. The Near Me feature and the assistant can ask your browser for your location. Your browser asks your permission first, and you can say no. If you do, we use the city you choose instead. We use your location to find places near you. Before we store it, we round it to about one kilometer (two decimal places), so the stored record cannot pinpoint where you were. When the assistant asks its AI provider for an answer, it passes along how far places are from you, not your coordinates.
How you use the site. We record which listings appear in results and which ones you click, along with taps on a listing’s phone number, website or directions. These records are tied to a random session number that lives in your browser’s session storage and is erased when you close the tab. They do not include your name, your IP address or your device details.
Messages you send us. If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, phone number if you give it, the topic and your message.
Business owner accounts. If you register as a business owner, submit a listing, or post an event or special, we collect your name, email address, login details, and the business information you provide.
Payments. Paid listings are billed through our payment processor. We do not see or store your full card number.
Standard server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically keeps basic technical logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working. If you use Near Me, your rounded or exact location may appear in the page address of that request, and so may be recorded in these logs.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and show places that fit your plans.
- To improve the guide, for example by finding questions the assistant could not answer.
- To give listed businesses totals, such as how many times their listing was shown or clicked. These are counts only and never identify you.
- To reply to your messages and run business owner accounts and billing.
- To keep the site secure and prevent misuse.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers that run parts of the site for us:

Each provider handles information under its own privacy policy. Please do not type sensitive personal information into the assistant.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Business owners who log in receive the cookies needed to stay signed in. The session number described above is kept in session storage, not in a cookie, and disappears when you close the tab.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including restricted access to stored records. No website is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

- You can block location access at any time in your browser settings.
